| Joe Landzlodt is a former military man who witnesses the death of his fiancée shortly after returning home. Things just weren’t going right in his life. First Helen dies mysteriously and now blinding headaches. When would his life ever get back to normal? Then there is his nephew Timmy. Joe’s heart aches for Timmy. An autistic child with the hands and eye of Picaso, yet he had no emotions, he felt nothing.
As Joe’s headaches gets worse he notices that when they occur, Timmy would go into another drawing frenzy. When he decides to get away for a bit Timmy starts drawing pictures of where Joe should go. As well as one of a women Joe has yet to meet. MeLing Huntington is a very unusual woman. Before her parents adopted her she was in a mine explosion in the rice patties of Vietnam, leaving her slightly disabled. MeLing has spent her life in hiding from a man bent on forcing her father to give up the military secrets he possessed, secrets that may be linked to a UFO. When MeLing meets Joe she wonders if he knows something about her father’s disappearance. Who is this strange man and what does he want with her father? Was he out to hurt them? MeLing struggles with this even as she falls in love with Joe. Dick Claassen writes a wonderful story that will take root in your heart and soul. He gives us a real look inside the life of an autistic child and the mystery behind his drawings. Timmy’s pictures will lead Joe into a world filled with military and aliens from another world. The moment Joe and MeLing meet the sparks fly and they fall in love. Can they solve the mystery behind Timmy’s drawings? Joe and MeLing are strong characters that help draw you into the plot of the story. Little Timmy is an important part of the mystery they set out to solve and you can’t help but be affected by his character. I look forward to reading the second book in this series titled Silver Seed with Timmy’s story. I recommend this book highly to readers of all genres. Enjoy!
