I liked the plot of this book. A love triangle between a straight woman, a bisexual man, and a gay man is certainly an innovative and unique approach to a ménage romance story. I really enjoyed the main characters, Bev, Brye, and Matt. They are complex and dynamic, and the issues they go through while trying to rationalize their thoughts and actions towards their complicated relationship were incredibly real. The secondary characters, however, weren't as well developed, though they stood out and their roles, both active and implied, made important impacts in the story. The pacing was a bit rushed, however, with several scenes beginning and ending rather abruptly, and the plot was not as well developed as it could have been. However, one big flaw the story has is lack of depth. I felt a lot of the story was told rather than shown. While the dialogue between the characters was lively and interesting, there was too much summary to the narration, and important aspects of the plot and the characters – such as Bev being rich, Matt feeling inadequate of Bev, and how Brye came to meet Bev – were all told in summation, making such important information that should have added depth and complexity to the story sound rushed and glanced over instead. For instance, one big thing I could not understand was why Bev was so in love with Matt. I was repeatedly told through the narration she was in love with him, but I was never shown why that was the case. I still don't understand what was so loveable and appealing about him, other than the fact he was gorgeous and could be irresistible when he put his mind to it. That was a big turn off for me, and if I had just understood why Bev was so obsessed with Matt, I would have enjoyed this story a lot more.
