| Grace Harmony has a special talent, or curse, as she sees it. Her mother had it too, until her thirtieth birthday. If she physically touches the corpse of a murder victim, Grace is wound back in time to a place where she can prevent the murder. Only one other person knew, her friend Mark. He’d always believed her. Grace hadn’t been able to save the last one. She’s met the love of her life this time and she’s having trouble saving Delores too. Grace keeps going back to touch the body every time Delores is murdered again. Grace is about to turn thirty and someone is changing things each time she rewinds in time. But that could only happen if someone is rewinding with her. How is that possible?
Corpse Whisperer is a great book. The storyline is engaging and exciting. The tension is almost palpable with a mystery that refuses to stay the same. I felt such a loss when Zack no longer knew Grace every time she slipped back in time. She still loves him but he doesn’t remember her. Zack is such a terrific guy that I want him for myself. Grace is so real that I have no problem believing she time slips; it seems perfectly natural to me. Every time around the sexual tension is heightened between Zack and Grace so that when they finally do get together I felt almost as relieved as Grace did. Delores and Mark were both wonderfully written as real as the main characters. I couldn’t help liking Delores in spite herself. She is the nicest lying, cheating, manipulating, blackmailing cop bunny you’ll ever meet. Mark gives off warning bells from the start but, like Grace, I couldn’t figure out how or why he was involved. I loved everything about this story. It is always such a joy to read a really good book and Corpse Whisperer by Chris Redding delivers in every way.
