Romance author Kissa Collins focuses on her writing so much that she doesn't have time for relationships. Enter FBI Agent Forbes Huntington who walks into the cover model auditions and his rugged good looks take Kissa's breath away. She rethinks her no mixing business with pleasure policy. Forbes is a confident undercover law enforcement officer set on capturing a bank robber then moving on to his next case. His life becomes even more complicated when he falls for the attractive writer and feels he must convince her that they are perfect together.

This was an appealing premise that had a lot of potential but it left me wanting more. The hero and heroine seemed a little one dimensional as though I really never got to know them. I loved the way the interracial romance was handled without putting the focus on the racial aspect of the relationship. I enjoyed the hidden agendas but felt the suspense themes of the novel were never fully developed. Plot twists weren't flushed out enough once again leaving me wanting more. I would have loved to delve into the characters in Kissa's novel a lot more, they seemed a little distant from the actual story. This novel held great potential but grammatical errors and poor word choices made it difficult for me to read. Over all I think Cover Model fell short of expectations, that the promise of the book was never really fulfilled.
