| Vinn and Eli have been best friends for years and spend much of their time sharing a camper on the rodeo circuit. Eli has been working to ignore the attraction he feels for Vinn until he receives a letter from his fiancée telling him she's found someone else. Now there's nothing standing in the way of them acting on the attraction that has been growing between them.
Opening with the letter from Eli's fiancée is necessary to allow the friendship between Vinn and Eli to grow into more. Removing her from the equation gives Eli the chance to reevaluate his life. Vinn's reluctance to take advantage of Eli's inebriated state illustrates how much he cares for his friend. Though he really wants Eli, he's unwilling to jeopardize their friendship on a night of pleasure since he still thinks Eli is engaged and may come to regret it in the morning. The depth of caring Eli has for Vinn is also apparent in his actions and the way he treats him. They suit each other very well. This is a fun friends to lovers story. Eve Cassidy has done a good job writing about two men who allow their friendship to evolve when given the opportunity. They do face obstacles along the way, including the fear of ruining their friendship, and it's how they deal with them that makes them fit well together.
