| Tab Conrad was a bull ridershe rode the biggest, the “baddest,” and took chances of injury or death each time. Her brother, Gid, also took part in the worst part of the rodeo. Their father was a preacher and, it seemed, they were absolutely defying his orders to not take chances with their lives. Gid’s best friend, Wes, had lost both his father and his brother to death either from falling or being gored by bulls. Wes spent his time as a rodeo clown trying to help riders keep from being hurt. He spent most of his time trying to cover for Tab; his greatest fear was that he would lose her too.
Tab was shocked when, leaving a rodeo dance with Wes, they became enamored with each other; she had always looked at him as her big brother’s best friend, not as a sexual “friend.” After they spent the entire night together, he told her they could get married and she would have to quit riding. That made her lividshe walked out and rode to the next rodeo with some friends. This quick novella has swift action and is extremely easy to read; it is very hard to put down. The plot is solid and the characters are believable and feel as if they are personal friends! Ms. Deirdre O’Dare has certainly created an exciting, out of the ordinary story! She has a gift for storytelling. I highly recommend this book!
