Once burned. Twice Shy.

Such is the case for Christopher Shields and Kate McKaye. Both are kind-hearted people who had terrible experiences with the opposite sex. Unfortunately their hearts did not listen to reason this time around.

They had grown up together. Kate remembered him as a quiet, shy boy in high school who doted on his girlfriend. In fact she was surprised they were not married. Then again, Kate was glad of that little fact. This way at least she did not have to worry about being the other woman.

Helping Kate at the stand reminded Chris that he was still a full- blooded man. It was true that he would never father children but someday he hoped he could find a woman who loved him for who he was not for the children they could create. Besides Kate already had two precious children. Maybe she would be the one.

CRAZY FOR KATE is an easy comfortable read. The plot moves along at a steady pace allowing the reader to guess the highs and lows of the characters. Every move is choreographed bringing a riveting conclusion to a simple boy meets girl plot.

McDonough is an excellent story teller. While she certainly goes for simplicity, CRAZY FOR KATE shows that it does not take much more than that to create a story worth reading.
