| Joy Simmons, registered nurse, was responsible not only for herself but also her younger sister, Dymond. At twenty, Dymond was a serious threat to Joy’s sanity as she continued her rebellious status even after leaving her school and moving back into the family home with Joy. Dymond was paranoid that she would lose her big sister. After all, Joy was all Dymond had left. Their parents were all dead and Dymond needed a lot of attention.
While seriously pursuing a demonic drug and gun dealer, Ridge Webber, Officer Logan Scott, a twenty-year veteran of the police department woke up in a hospital. His original partner was still on light duty from being shot by the same offender and now Logan had been unconscious for three days. When he woke up and saw his nurse, mahogany-skinned Joy Simmons, he wasn’t sorry he was in that hospital bed. This woman got his attention more than any other ever had. This is my first Marie Rochelle novel, I believe. Let me assure you it will NOT be my last. This book was so intricately written that there was never a down part or anything that could not capture my attention. The myriad of characters in the book just continued to mesmerize me. The main couple, Logan and Joy, was both strong characters who knew what they each wanted but were willing to take their time exploring the relationship. There were so many difficult situations they faced that it would be easy for an author to lose her audience. That did not happen in this book. Her characters were both believable and enviable. The action was almost non-stop. The sensual scenes were dynamic and had fabulous impact on the overall storyline. The book actually opened twenty years prior to this activity, but the author’s ability to incorporate this valuable information into the plot and current story was profound. The title of this book was revealed after much of the story was told. The happily-ever-after was a total surprise. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a great story with passionate sex.
