However, neither pays much attention to shifter politics. Only now that he is fairly certain he can control his wolf is he willing to act on the desire he feels for her. Unfortunately, their timing sucks. Just as things start heating up between them, trouble comes and threatens to end things before they ever really get started.
The good natured ribbing and reassurances Derek and Nick receive in the opening chapter are a great way to draw readers in. It highlights how important their friends are to them while showing that their relationship is the focus of the story. The dialogue is witty and fits the characters and helps move the story along. The pacing of the whole thing is wonderful and will keep the pages turning to find out what is going to happen next. Though Nick and Derek are drawn into a bad situation, they learn to lean on each other to make it through. The sizzling attraction between is evident anytime they're around each other and explodes when they touch. Even though the sex between them is hot enough to singe the pages, it is the emotion behind it that proves these two belong together. They are each willing to do anything for each other, including fighting their own protective instincts when it is necessary to let the other stand on their own. This is a wonderfully written love story about two people who will not let anything stand in the way of their love. Moira Rogers has done a fantastic job of showing that nothing matters as much as the love between two people who are meant to be together, no matter their differences.
