| After the death of her husband, Elizabeth Bretton travels to her family's homestead to collect and catalogue heirlooms before the estate is sold. On her first night in the small town, she is attacked by a rabid vampire and before she can say transfusion she's newly turned. Now it is five years later and Elizabeth has given up her role as an heiress and gotten used to her undead life in Broken Heart. Just as she's learning to embrace her new abilities a vindictive spirit tries to kill her and were-jaguar Tezozomoc "Tez" Abraham Elvis Jones shows up in time to save her. Can they solve the mystery and deal with their attraction before anyone comes to harm?
I knew that I was going to love this book from the minute I saw Dean Winchester of Supernatural quoted on the same page as a Walt Whitman. This was a fun and sexy romance that kept me giggling and wiggling. Book seven of The Broken Heart Series will not disappoint fans and most likely attract more to the quirky Oklahoma haven for paranormals. Elizabeth is a fantastic vampire lead character; she's a high-class heroine with an approachable humor. I understood her sadness over the fact she could never have children and I felt the entire issue was handled with care. I love Tez, his sexy sinewy body came in second only to his earthy conversation and witty banter. They don't get much more tall, dark and handsome then this were-jaguar. Once again I thoroughly enjoyed this authors causticness, she truly is a master of this art form. My favorite part of this book was the fact that we got to learn the history of the founding families of the town, this has been an intricate vein throughout the past books and I enjoyed the detailed information about the legend. I also appreciated that we got to meet the were-cats and I look forward to getting to know some of them better in upcoming offerings. I highly recommend picking this one up.
