This retreat is a special New Age type retreat. Shyla was skeptical before, but hearing about the retreat just makes her want to perform her own retreat back to work and sanity! To go along with what Shyla believes is the nonsense, she has been given a special “sex stone” with supposedly powerful benefits. It sure as heck is making her long held in check desires resurface!
And who better to explore those desires with than a sexy, hands-on lumberjack-like man? Shyla may not have wanted to attend the retreat, but she sure is not saying no to the special treatment she is receiving. This book had a bit of a slow start. The process of getting Shyla to accept the retreat and admit she needed some changes in her life was really drawn out and at times, frankly boring. It wasn’t until Shyla finally met the male protagonist of the story that book really picked up and became engrossing. Shyla and Dallas have some serious sparks and while they also have some preconceived ideas of each other, that isn’t enough to stop the attraction from intensifying. Even a deception plot doesn’t ruin the ending for these characters. Ms. Cash, smartly enough, seemed to know when to draw the line from subtle-plot devices to downright melodrama. Shyla manages to find not only enlightenment, happiness, and lust on her retreat, but she meets a great guy in the bargain. Crystal Clear Persuasion started a bit rough but pulled off an agreeable story in the end.
