| Kutie, Char, and George's special friendship formed when they were children. The death of their mothers, who were lifelong friends, drew them closer still. The arrival of a book and a letter from her dead mother not only upsets and disturbs Kutie but has she and her friends, together with Simon who is a precognitive, embarking a journey to unravel a mystery that will lead them to surprising and shocking discoveries, danger and love.
Crystal Dreams was a rather unusual novel. I was driven to turn the pages to unravel the mystery alongside the characters. However, I did feel somewhat confused at times and wondered just where the author was taking this story. There were several twists and turns that took place before the greater understanding that made sense of everything that happened. But this could have been the author's goal. I also found the characters a bit flat at times. The romance between Kutie and Simon, which appeared assumed rather than real, left me with no particular investment in their relationship. I did, on the other hand, really enjoy the mystery, intrigue, and the individuality of this plot driven story and that kept me reading until the end.
