| Rhiannon has again been sent to the tower so her elder sister's suitors won't
be distracted. Rhiannon is gorgeous while her sister is not. She has no clue
that a devious troll named Cupid is wanting revenge on the Lycans that
insulted him just because he accidentally made two people fall in love. So
he'll use Rhiannon, a human woman who, to him, looks hideous. He'll spell her
with a pheromone that will make her irresistible to the lycans. They'll do
anything to have the ugly, human woman, even fight and kill each other for
her. And eventually Lord Ilar would have to claim her as mate to stop it all.
But Cupid doesn't count on Rhiannon actually being beautiful to Ilar and the other lycans. Or on the possibility than Rhiannon and Ilar might truly be suited to each other. Cupid's Enchantment was moderately enjoyable. I liked the way Ilar treated Rhiannon, refusing to push the issue of sex despite the obvious desire to do so. It didn't make him seem like a noble hero, just one that was on the tail- end of considerate. If she had said yes in a moment of weakness, he'd have taken her on her word. But Rhiannon too often seemed gullible, inconsiderate, and reckless. It drove me nuts when she said or did something that either hurt Ilar or put herself in danger. But other than that, I liked the overall story. The magical realm wasn't explored very much, but there really wasn't a need to. I liked the push-and-pull between Rhiannon and Ilar, especially when desire was in the mix. It made the stakes a little higher between them. The desire was very, very hot without being overly explicit. Even the love scenes that didn't get that far were scorching! Cupid's Enchantment is worth a read, especially when wanting something a little light and quick.
