Zane Cupid doesn’t want any part of the family business…the Cupid business. But Zane’s parents have just told him if he doesn’t find love for Charity Patterson by Valentine’s Day they will take his trust fund. Charity is the window dresser at Heartstrings department store (Zane’s mother’s family business) and Zane doesn’t think she looks like a good prospect; she’s so clumsy. Can Zane find love for Charity in a week? And what about Zane, what does he really want in his life? Doesn’t he believe in love?

Cupid’s Target is a really cute and delightfully funny Valentine’s story. I liked the character of Charity right away. She is kind, thoughtful, modest, and charming. Zane I wasn’t so sure about; he seemed a little spoiled. The fun comes from the misadventures that occur from Zane trying to fix Charity up with someone to keep his trust fund. This story is a lighthearted romp filled with fun and zaniness, perfect for a Valentine read or anytime you want to be diverted from the pressures of real life. I would love to read other zany stories about the Cupid family business or even some of the other holiday characters in the pursuit of their family business.
