| Dakotah has been on the run for a long time. Her family had sold her to a man to get rid of their debts. While in his employ, she'd been forced to become what she despised, and when his son attacked her she had responded with lethal force. Now he's hunting her, and she can trust no one. Not even the man that attracts her like no one else.
Domino doesn't want to get tied down to one woman. He's a Dahmpir, which is a stage before turning full Vampire. Even though he's close to turning completely vampire, he's determined that he will not keep a kadine (wife) if he can help it. When he sees Dakotah run into the woods, he's sure that he wants just one night with her to get her out of his blood for good. Will he find that one night is enough? Dakotah is a tortured soul who's been through a lot but is still a good person. She's tough and fully able to take care of herself, because she's had to learn to be that way with her hard life. I liked her a lot, and found myself hoping from the moment I met her that she would find what she was looking for. Domino starts out as a playboy, unwilling to get tied down and wanting to stay free for as long as possible. As they both struggle with their innate personalities, they also have to struggle with their wolves, who have decided that they are mates, regardless of what the human side wants. I think this is a marvelous series, and it's only getting better with each book. Dakotah's Reading is a captivating story from the start and continues the tradition of this great series.
