| Cassidy Amberg had lived in Oakwood, Illinois and attended New Hope Church for years. She was known as a loving, caring, giving person. She was, however, known to be unapproachable to men. She had, apparently, no interest in men. Her best friend since elementary school, Brian Hayward, had been the love of her life. Instead of marrying her, he had met someone else, married her and moved away. Now, he was back—without his wife.
Brian had made a big, big mistake when he married Nicole. Because he was a Christian, he felt he owed it to both of them to work through the problems of their marriage. He had done everything he knew to do to appease her complaints. The evening she crashed their car, she was mad and blaming Brian for everything. She was killed; Brian was seriously injured and was temporarily in a wheelchair. He returned to his hometown to recuperate. Ms. Deborah Kinnard has written a poignant, emotionally-charged book about a couple who grew up expecting to be together forever. However, his decisions changed both of their lives forever. The calm Cassidy had lived with shattered when she had to face Brian on an almost daily basis. Their dedication to their love for God forced them to make some choices neither thought they would ever face. This book was definitely not a cookie-cutter type. I was surprised at the power of this book. The sensuality was simplistic but definitely not boring. I applaud the talent of Ms. Kinnard and her ability to give this storyline the punch necessary to present it.
