| One should always be careful where you stick your nose. Because just around the corner and in the dark of night, the very monsters one does seek, become a vampyre's legal right. A prisoner of their sensuous bite…
London 1823 Damien Valencourt and Charisse Baxter have become close-knit friends in the last year. Damien is attracted to Charisse's nonchalant attitude toward social graces. She cares nothing about what the ton thinks of her and her oddball persona. At a social ball, Damien finds out Charisse's new curiosity is for the vampyre. What Charisse does not know, is that Damien is one - a vampyre that is. While at the ball, Damien is alerted to news of a problem concerning the Counsel's Elders. Charisse cannot keep her mouth closed and ends up being taken, by force, with Damien to the Counsel's domain. Damien will end up having to tell the Elders that Charisse is his ward - his mistress. Now, this story will really get your blood flowing and your imagination reeling! The Vampyre Scrolls: Damien and Charisse is by author Christy Gissendaner. Ms. Gissendaner took a familiar vampire premise and gave it her own biting mark. Creating something deliciously fresh in the very saturated field of paranormal/vampire romance. Ms. Gissendaner's writing is fluid and divinely entertaining. The characters are multi-dimensional; this ingratiates them to this reader. Charisse is a precociously inquisitive young lady. Her morbid curiosity has gone a little too far this time and landed her in hot water with the vampyre Counsel. If there is trouble, Charisse always seems to be in the thick of it. Her saving grace will be Damien, taking her as his supposed mistress. Only, this will turn into a real - passionate relationship. Filled with fire and carnal proclivities, that could burn them both. If you are looking for a good book to sink your teeth into, then The Vampyre Scrolls: Damien and Charisse by Christy Gissendaner, might just be what you are hungering for. This reviewer smells a sequel and cannot wait to jump back into the action and heat of these sexy vampyre! Fly over to Triskelion Publishing to nab a copy.
