| Nikki is a psychic detective on the case of a spoiled little rich girl named Monica. Her father wanted her found and returned home. When she took on the case, Nikki has no idea what she was getting into. In the course of following her, she ran into something so evil, she couldn't help but be afraid. Even with her considerable powers, she knew she wouldn't be able to beat it. Then Michael arrived, a man with strong psychic powers of his own, and saves her life. Now Nikki is torn, because she doesn't know if the man who is helping her is the real enemy or not. And she's fallen in love with him.
Michael has been hunting evil for centuries. He's a vampire that has turned hunting rouges into a living and a mission. He knows that Jasper can make Zombies, and prefers ones with strong psychic powers. The only way he can catch Jasper is to lure him in with a strong psychic. When he sees Nikki stalking her client, he knows he's found his bait. He's not concerned that he will fall for her, he's immune. Or so he thinks. Dancing with the Devil is a story that leaves you on the edge of your seat the whole time you are reading it. I really enjoyed Nikki's character, she was a strong, independent minded woman who had to get through a lot to get where she was. She had no problem saying no or fighting for what she believed was right. Michael is just what you would expect of a vampire that has had to do his job for so long. He doesn't want to care for Nikki, and believes that he can't. He fights his feelings every step of the way. There's a lot of action in this book, and the story line keeps you guessing. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and would recommend it to anyone who loves a good vampire story. This is a definite keeper, and I will without doubt be reading the rest of the series.
