Lady Bethoc tried to kill Kenneth for killing her father and betrothed but is captured. So Kenneth makes Malcom marry her by handfasting so she will be well watched and cannot try to attack him again. Malcom does as his cousin wishes but falls in love with her. He knows that there can never be anything between them because as soon as he gets his skin back he will be leaving.

In DANGER IS SWEET, Cornelia Amiri takes us back to 843 A.D. This is the time of the selkies. It is a fast paced novel and one I thoroughly enjoyed. I read the story at one setting as I could not lay it down. I had to keep turning the pages to find out how the two protagonists could possibly solve the problems against them. This was the first book by Ms. Amiri that I had read but it will not be my last. I enjoyed the magic and imagination she put into the plot. I recommend her to all who like the paranormal or the medieval period.
