When Melinda Palmer's kid brother and ward, Ryan, hacks into the software of Drake Trahern, ex-military computer whiz, she has no idea that she will stand responsible. Summoned for a two day in-depth interview at Drake's remote house in exchange for dropping charges against Ryan, Melinda musters her courage and tries to make the best of the situation. Both Drake and she are in for a surprise as neither turn out to be the person the other assume them to be. Agreeing to Drake's outrageous proposal that she follow his every whim for two days, Melinda begins a journey which burns her to ashes only to force her to rise to new glory and appreciation of herself. But Drake has a secret - the first A.I. programme whom dubious characters are dying to get a hold of. Are Melinda and her brother working with these criminals?

On the surface, this almost day dream like story is fairly straightforward. Boy gets a hold over girl. Girl has to submit. They fall in love and live happily ever after. But that's only on the surface, though. Ms. Teglia to make this story and the characters come alive and defy expectations. Yes, the outcome is predictable, but the road to the end is refreshingly free of tantrums, hurt feelings and misunderstandings such a plot might suggest. Melinda is, miraculously enough, a level headed, adorable character with more sense than sensibility - one of the few heroines I don't want bash over the head and dump in the river. And Drake is a very cute alpha male (go figure!) whom no female reader would mind bumping into in a dark alley. Throw in a Bible quoting, matchmaking computer, sprinkle wonderful writing and hot chemistry and you have a delicious concoction you will want to come back to over and over again.
