| Madison Phillips just broke up with Bradley, and she's in need of rebound sex. She chooses her brother Eric's best friend Gabe. Gabe's a no commitment kind of guy, but he's not about to have sex with his friend's little sister. Madison isn't about to give up, teasing Gabe and flashing her undies whenever possible.
Maddie is somewhat a spoiled rich girl. She's opening an espresso shop, Ooo La Latté, with financial help from her folks. She can't make espresso herself, but has hired one barista - a nursing student named Sarah working 10-12 hour shifts for her. (One of the real mysteries here is when Sarah attends class.) Gabe warns Maddie about the Espresso Bandit, who has already killed one victim. Gabe is supposed to help her close up, so when Maddie disrobes to greet him, she is startled to find the bad guy and receive a pistol whipping. The bandit thought the place was empty, so Madison is the only one who has seen him without his mask. She is now in grave danger. Maddie moves in with Gabe for protection, continuing to tempt him into a sexual relationship. There are mysteries about both their pasts. Maddie grows into a much more likable person as the novel progresses. The novel is highly erotic, the romance proceeds in a satisfactory way, and the coffee killer is dispatched in a highly dramatic manner.
