| Daniella Duncan had always been the fat kid. No one wanted to pick her for their physical education games in school. When she grew up, she (at 26) still had nightmares and lived at home with her parents. She was painfully shy and still overweight. The only good thing in her life was her job at Beckman & Sons, Inc. She had a reputation for being a good and conscience worker. She was handpicked to become the assistant to the "son" in the organization and work on a special project.
Harrison Beckman was impressed with Dani's ethical behaviour and immediately took her into his confidence. After all, she had helped uncover the sabotage in her own department. Harrison was attracted to this young woman and was jealous when a worker at the company they were dealing with started paying Dani extra attention and then started dating her long-distance. Ms. JoAnn Carter has written a poignant book about business morals and the awakening of a down-trodden young woman who has silently suffered her entire life. Harrison was totally dedicated to God and allowed Him to lead his life. The interaction between this main pair was such that it was easy to get into the flow of the story. The couple is totally believable and lovable. The secondary characters were developed in such a way that it was easy to anticipate the outcome. However, the book was not without several big surprises. Ms. Carter's writing style made the story flow well and kept the suspense moving. In true Carter style, she captured my attention and held it all the way to the happily ever after. I recommend this book highly and know readers will agree with me that it is a great book to read.
