| Riordan and Roarke are vampire lovers. They have finally found the right apartment
and have moved in. One day, they receive a phone call from Adrian, who runs the local
blood bank. He reiterates a story to them of a vampire, who has killed not in the night,
but in the daylight. This news is very disturbing to both Riordan and Roarke. This monster
must be stopped. Because Roarke is a full vampire, ( Riordan was not fully turned when
he was bitten and can tolerate the sun), he can not go out during the day. It is up to Riordan
to stake this daylight vampire. The next day while Riordan is out, he spots Roarke out in the sun. Riordan is now torn between his lover and his duty to destroy this killer, whoever it may turn out to be.
Dark Callings III: Sacrifice, a novella, and the third in this vampire series, is by Elizabeth Jewell. Please be warned, very explicit. Elizabeth Jewell has this special way of creating a very beautiful relationship between Riordan and Roarke. You forget that it is two male lovers, but just two people very much in love. My only complaint, were their names, Riordan and Roarke. At times I would get confused, and would have to stop and go back to see who was who.
