Eight years ago, ex CIA agent Annie Gallagher left her partner and lover, Nash Brennon, vanishing off the radar. Or so she thought. When her beloved son Adam is kidnapped, she knows she will do whatever it takes to get him back. Never considering her path would cross with Nash again.

A-Tac is an elite CIA unit. The members hide behind teaching identities at an Ivy League college. Nash, a member of the team, is shocked when his latest assignment involves Annie, his ex field partner. He's spent years trying to forget her. Now she's back and a suspected traitor.

Duty, desire, betrayal and revenge run side by side in this dramatic and suspenseful novel.

Annie mistakenly believed that she could disappear and leave it all behind. However, in this instance, the past has a way of catching up with the present and does so in spades. Nash finds it hard to believe that Annie would turn traitor. Then again, she left him. As the story unfolds, it soon becomes apparent that the feelings they had for each other never disappeared. But once betrayed, trusting again is hard. They are left with no choice when the enemy has his own personal agenda.

This is a page-turner that is difficult to put down, as the story twists and turns. The background of the college and the team of agents is interesting. Add high definition to the story with excellent characterization, dialogue and interaction. There is plenty of edgy tension both in the action scenes and between the characters. This will leave the reader anticipating their next move. Initially as I read, I felt the story to be rather clichéd - I soon changed my mind. The author's imagination and writing talent proved how wrong I was. I highly recommend this start to what will I suspect a fabulous series.
