| Alyson Mendez wants a story to top all stories. She wants to write about the Dark Lord of Lust. Stealing his gold medallion from a friend, she bargains with him: his story for the return of the medallion. What he gives her is a reliving of his life.
S. L. Carpenter has built an erotic tale of a spirit lover who can fulfill fantasies in dreams or in person. He gives us tales of this lover through the ages from his early beginnings as a protector of women to the love of his life who he seeks in every women he now meets. Some of the stories are pure lust, some pure fantasy, some heartbreaking tales of abuse, neglect and even murder. All of the tales, each of the women Pilan talks about, come to life under the pen of this author. The simple Indian tribal woman who has completed her year of mourning for her husband, wanting to start to live again starts the tales he tells. The high powered executive, the rich, lonely woman whose husband is away too much all have fantasies he can help fulfill. He loses his powers for a year after a fiasco in which two people are killed. For that time he must live as a mortal, experience life and it changes him. Now he’s the seeker, looking for the elusive woman of his dreams in everyone he meets. This is a great book. Each part of it is unique with lots of sex, lots of emotions, lots of excellent dialogue and a few surprises along the way. S.. L. Carpenter shows himself to be an excellent writer of powerful emotions and great sex.
