| Theron is one of the original seven vampires who survived a plague that wiped out the rest of their race in the sixteenth century. Each is the master of a sect and it is to him all responsibility falls. Keeping his sect safe and the secret of their existence are the most important things in Theron's life. It's one of the reasons for his club using no names. There he is only known as Tac.
Vance knows there is something strange going on in the Catacombs and is determined to find if there lies the answer to his friend's murder. But his growing feelings for Tac are starting to get in the way. In the third book in the series and my favourite, Theron deserves love and finds himself in love to his surprise. Tac and Theron may be the same person, vampire, but they have different personalities and Theron is very careful about not letting people from the club know the real him. The strength that shows in both personas is mainly dominant and for good reason. But with Vance, a softer side starts to show, something Theron fears as a weakness. It isn't as difficult for a five hundred year-old vampire to learn new lessons as he thinks. This is a fast moving story and a little darker than the previous ones in the set, but that just adds to the mystery that is Theron and his Catacombs.
