Cleo Moran is a former cat burglar with strange nightmares. Against her better judgment she returns to her former trade to steal back statues that seem to be the root of the problem. Alexander 'Sasha' Michaels believes he needs her help. He manages to capture her when she does as he expects and comes for an accursed statue. She couldn't buy it from him so she's desperate enough to fall back on her abilities as a thief.

Ann Bruce pens an intensely erotic tale full of adventure. The book doesn't flow as well as others by this author that I've read in the past. All of the pieces are there, romance, a vicious villain who could be one of several people, exotic locales but I felt a bit lost at times. It may just be me so others may find the book to be an excellent read in keeping with this author's usual work.

Hero and heroine are well done as is some exciting eroticism. Secondary characters aren't quite as clear at times. Suspense keeps us guessing but the erotic breaks in the action hindered the cohesiveness of the tale for me. The original premise that Sasha wants the help of a cat burglar to track down someone who attacked his sister is part of my conundrum.

All of that aside, the tale can be fun as the two do a bit of globe trotting to find the villain. Cleo's self deprecation about her rusty skills for breaking and entering when she gets caught for the first time in her career are funny. As an erotic novel this is good but the suspense plays out in a way that leaves me with questions and a bit of confusion.
