| Brandi is a bar owner absorbed in revamping the establishment into an award-winning restaurant. She doesn't have time for long-term commitments so her current boy-toy suits her fine until Niall walks into Dark Shadows. As the Chancellor for the Guardian Squad, Niall accompanies souls to heaven or hell depending on the lives they have lived. His ultimate goal is to become an angel. That is until he meets his reincarnated wife. Can these two work out the obstacles to their future together?
This was a powerful, paranormal erotic romance of good against evil. I enjoyed that this story of right versus wrong not only introduces the readers to angels and demons but also mentions sirens, elves and sea nymphs while it weaves the threads of fate and reincarnation. Niall is a strong, commendable character and I was fascinated by his abilities and duties as a member of the Guardian Squad. Brandi is an equally strong personality and I appreciated the fact that her actions and reasonings were explained by the end of the tale. I was a little overwhelmed by Mark's involvement in this story, he was more than a secondary character but not the lead and this dampened my experience a bit because I felt that he was either too involved or not involved enough. The descriptions brought the details to vivid detail and I loved the glimpses we got into the levels of hell. I look forward to reading more stories about the Guardian Squad and getting updates on the members I have already met.
