| Vivie Field is working at London Hospital to become a nurse, hoping to combine modern medicine and Druid medicine for the benefit of society. Dr. Alec Stratton is attracted to her but he’s struggling to live with his past and become a part of society he thinks loving her will deny him.
Ms. Stewart has done an excellent job of telling a tale of people who start life at opposite extremes of the social ladder. She paints these vibrant characters so well. Vivie has been born to wealth but chooses not to let it keep her from being of benefit to society. Alec has risen from the slums to become a doctor and fit into the upper echelons of society wanting nothing more than the wealth and importance marrying right can bring him. Luckily the author doesn’t give up on him. Slowly, with one thing after another, she helps him see that love can be more important than prestige or social standing. It takes a lot to make this proud man bend but Ms.. Stewart is just the author to do it while weaving a tale that’s a pleasure to read. Maybe Jean Hart Stewart has a little Druid magic guiding her pen! Whatever it is, this second in the series about this wonderful family is romance at its best. Each story stands alone featuring another family member but once you get involved with these characters I’ll bet you’ll want more. I know I never wanted any of the stories to end.
