Ario left Japan after being banished from his ancestral home and settled in Ireland. After struggle and strife, he's finally made a home in a secluded forest in Ireland. After encountering a pixie in the forest, he stumbles upon a sleeping Fea warrior, Cailte. Ario and Cailte's feel an immediate attraction. However, Ario's family is not done with him and demands he return home. Can Cailte convince Ario that his new life is with him before Ario succumbs to familial obligations?

How Not to Date a Fae has a lot of action, laughs and hot, steamy sex! I enjoyed the quick pace and constant action. However, Ario was a little too indecisive for me. There were moments when his waffling appeared in contrast with his overall character. After his experiences and struggles, I saw him as a potentially independent, strong character. Yet, his behavior and indecisive moments cause me to dislike him at times. The story was saved by Cailte as Ario's personality was a good juxtaposition to him. I especially enjoyed how the characters' relationship developed but wished that Ario was a little more assertive.

While I had some problems with the character, this story did keep me interested and engaged enough to finish it in one sitting! So despite some minor difficulties, Ario and Cailte were a good match and this was an intriguing story.
