| Abby Myers hated her job as a paralegal. She didn't hate the work itself, but her boss. It seems that Hunter Caldwell, a new attorney, couldn't give up control long enough to allow Abby to do her own work. She hated feeling as if she had no control over her own life. At the age of almost twenty seven, not only is she a virgin, but she has never been kissed. Luckily, her next door neighbor, Jordan Ross, is her best friend. He has a deeply imbedded hatred of love and it showed in his dating life. A different woman every night, with no repeats, is the lifestyle he will always adhere to.
Abby’s mother, Alyse Myers, was a widow who loved the same man, Abby’s father, her entire adult life. Jordan’s mom, Carolina, was preparing to wed husband number five, Max. These background tidbits had cemented the attitudes and habits both Abby and Jordan used to measure their own relationships. Abby had one big birthday wish. Within the upcoming month, she wanted to have a ‘lover’ for her birthday. It became Jordan’s job to find her soul mate! Ms. Robbie Terman created a very interesting story about first-time love and the stability of an opposite-sex best friend relationship. She designed her characters to establish and track her main couple throughout their ups and downs, loves and hates, and commitments and authenticities. Her additional characters were many and varied. There was so much information revealed through the makeup of these people that it would have been almost impossible to tell this story without the myriad of personalities included! Ms. Terman has written a highly emotional story about friendship, love, and devotion to others. It is also about family life, even though their present lives directly connected to their family circle relationships. I was taken by surprise by the outcomes which occurred. I shed many tears, laughed a few chuckles, and enjoyed the whole manuscript. I was unfamiliar with Ms. Terman, but will look forward to future offerings. This is a great book and, when the end is reached, it was the perfect ending!
