| Hank and Felicia go undercover with the SKIU (serial killer investigation unit) to catch "Pan," a maniac who abducts and holds women hostage as the means for becoming a god. Amy believes his behavior is escalating and he is going to kill someone soon if they do not catch him.. While on assignment as husband and wife Hank and Felicia begin to develop feelings for each other, but Felicia thinks that Hank is in love with Amy. Can they work through their feelings for each other and catch "Pan" before it is too late?
This book is supposed to be the sequel to Amy and Ry’s story, but it seems like it is really Amy’s story. Amy is a character who I decidedly didn't like, aside from the best efforts of the author to make her perfect. She is supposed to be the perfect woman -- smart, charming, beautiful and doesn’t know it, with a heart of gold. She came across as a spoiled, narcissistic, manipulative, know-it-all, who feels she knows everything just because she was a psychiatrist. She tells everyone how to do their job even though she had never been a detective, she tells everyone how they feel because apparently no one in the story can figure it out for themselves. I also found the flow of the book to be confusing. I couldn't get the timeline. One minute, Amy is four months pregnant, then seven, and then she is delivering. The story of Hank and Felicia is supposed to be concurrent yet seems to be moving in days and weeks instead of Amy’s months. The premise for this book sounds wonderful. It could have been a story full romance and suspense, but instead the author can’t seem to get away from Amy long enough to focus on the original plot.
