Luke begins his dream job working for the Serial Services Division of the FBI and is reunited with Monica, who is a profiler in the same division. Monica and Luke shared a brief relationship in the past and Luke doesn't have any problem picking up where it left off. Monica doesn't agree but Luke knows the truth. Soon the investigation turns personal and Monica and Luke have to stick together to survive the serial killer they are tracking.

Nail-biting suspense, great dialogue, and unforgettable characters combine to make this a book you will not forget. Monica and Luke and all the supporting characters will stay in your mind long after you finish this book. From the very first page, I was drawn into the story and the pacing kept me riveted throughout. Monica's past made her the perfect person to get into the mind of the evil villain. Her history has created the person she is today and Luke can't help but be drawn to her for her dedication and resilience. I loved how Luke handled Monica, even when he was trying to let her do her job. Lots of hidden secrets help build the sexual tension between Monica and Luke. The author does a fantastic job balancing the tension of the investigation with the romantic relationship developing between Luke and Monica. I thought the parallel of how the killer operated by murdering the victims with their biggest fears and Monica's biggest fear was very cleverly done. With lots of twists and turns and close calls, Deadly Fear is romantic suspense at its best! Deadly Fear is one you will reread over and over! I can't wait to see which character will be featured in the next Deadly series book.
