Trish Flaherty and Greg Erickson have a past, one that didn't end on such great terms. In fact, both think the other betrayed them. However, things aren't always what they seem.

For Trish, the only thing on her mind is to stop someone from sabotaging her top-secret software project, of which she has ten days to do so otherwise she could have a national security disaster on her hands. Furthermore, there's only one person capable of helping her find the person responsible and that is her ex-lover, Greg. Yet this time, she figures she can work with him as long as she doesn't get too close and allow her heart to become involved again. Greg has his own problems with someone sabotaging the reputation of his company, so he sees the opportunity to work with Trish as a chance to turn his misfortunes around. Yet with each piece of the puzzle unravelling, Greg believes Trish to be involved in the extortion plans. However, when she proves him wrong and then is threatened, he does everything in his power to find the person responsible before anything happens to the one person he still loves.

Having read the first book in this series, Beyond Paradise, I couldn't wait to read this one because I believed Trish and Greg had such great compatibility. The edge-of-your-seat plot was riveting and had me fully captivated from start to finish with its mix of suspense and romance. As for the dialogue, it was intense and at times very emotional because of their past, which I enjoyed because it showed they still loved each other. The sex scenes were also intense as well as red hot because the feelings from the past were still there, even though both tried to deny them for their own sakes. What I liked so much about the heroine was her determination to find the extortionist on her own even though she knew it wasn't going to be easy. While with Greg, I liked that even though Trish pushed him away at every opportunity that he was determined to make sure she was safe after being threatened.

Overall, Ms. Mix has penned a great novel in this one and I can't wait to read it again. I even recommend it to those readers that love a good romantic suspense novel but make sure you read the first one of this series before reading this one.
