Regan Delaney is an ex-vampire hunter called in on a case by Sergeant Michael Flynn. A recent string of violent killings has left the city in a panic. The bodies are mutilated and left drained of blood. Joaquin Santiago is the former master vampire of the city and comes forward naming the killer. Instead of a vampire, he assures them that the killer is of supernatural power able to kill both human and the Undead. He believes it is the same killer responsible for the murder of his wife and his sworn enemy. Joaquin tells Regan that he and his enemy will not stop coming after each other until one of them is dead. Joaquin finds himself drawn to Regan. She mesmerizes and intrigues like no one has since the death of his wife. When Regan is attacked and turned into a werewolf, she is told by Joaquin that in order to revert back to her former self she must kill the very one who turned her. This is something Joaquin has tried but failed at for many years. They turn to each other to find solace from the turmoil around them , but can they stop the killer from continuing on his path?

Joaquin and Regan evoke sympathy and hope while you read about them. Joaquin doesn't hold back his feelings or heart making himself very vunerable to Regan. Regan at first rejects him, but begins to understand the real man behind the vampire. He is so kind and caring that she can't help but start falling in love with him. The characters are developed nicely and play off each other very well. Regan and Joaquin are two strong willed people who concentrate on the task at hand and let love develop slowly. The mystery regarding the killer is well written and is a good page turner. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a paranormal thriller with a great love story.
