Ainsley is reporter for the small local paper and after receiving an anonymous disturbing CD at the office, she learns a female's body was found in their small town. Instinct tells her they are related but the local police chief won't admit it. As they explore the possibilities of who the murderer could be, the violence escalates with more women disappearing. Their relationship also heats up. Ainsley is involved since the murderer is targeting her with his deeds, and Beck vows to catch him before something happens to Ainsley or her family. What happens if Beck doesn't catch him in time?

You don't want to miss this book! It's full of action, suspense, small town closeness and most of all, romance. The reader is sucked into the drama of a dead body being found in a small college town and the action flows quickly after that. Ainsley has raised her younger sisters for the past eleven years and her commitment to her family is a testament to her character. She has integrity, honesty, tenacity and most of all a sense of responsibility. These traits snag the attention of Beck, even though he doesn't trust the journalist in her. Beck was burned in the past by a reporter that has colored his judgment of the profession. It doesn't take him long to realize Ainsley is different in her profession and also different from other women he has known. Even though Beck and Ainsley have some clues as to the identity of the killer, they can't find enough evidence to pinpoint who he is. That doesn't stop the action in the book as from one scene to the next the plot is advanced through their developing relationship and how the killer is obviously someone who knows Ainsley and her habits. There were lots of supporting characters in this book and some that I would love to read more about (hint, hint). The love scenes were very sensual with an earthiness and honesty that the everyday reader can appreciate and relate to. Dead Stop is a great choice for an entertaining light suspense (some graphic violence) with great character development and honest emotions.
