From the moment Patrick is born, Ven vows to protect him. Ven isn't quite sure exactly what he's protecting him from but figures it must be Death given her sudden appearance in their lives. Now he just has to get Patrick to accept that he is special and will never be normal.

Lexxie Couper has crafted a clever, fast-paced story that will capture your attention and never let it go. The opening scene is full of action and brings about the first meeting between Fred and Patrick, even though he's not supposed to be able to see her. From there on, the two of them dance around their attraction, with some interference from Ven, while trying to figure out exactly what is going on and how Patrick and Ven are connected to it.

Ven, Patrick, and Fred are all great characters on their own, but the three of them together are fantastic. The exchanges between Ven and Patrick highlight just how close a bond the two of them really have, so close neither of them will let anything, including Death, come between then. While Fred's appearance complicates matters, it also turns up the heat of the story. The sex scenes sizzle with passion and all the detail a reader can want and leave them in need of a fan to cool off.

Everything in this story exceeded my expectations from start to finish. Though there are clues about what will happen in the end, there are enough twists throughout the story to keep it exciting. This is one story I gladly recommend to anyone, especially those who like stories where sexy heroes are forced to look at themselves and decide whether or not to accept who they really are.
