Venus bet Mars that she could get two people to fall in love without using any magic. When Venus' son, Cupid, finds out, he is sure that his mother has taken leave of her senses. Cupid reminds his mother that the next candidate in line for love is the very prim Olivia Montgomery. Venus is determined to win her bet but she has her work cut out for her this time.

Olivia Montgomery has spent her entire life being sheltered and groomed to be the wife of a diplomat. When she learns of her father's plan to send her to a “bodyguard training spa”, Olivia is very reluctant to go. Soon she has a change of heart and decides bodyguard training could be just the thing to put her in control of her own life for once. Then she meets the enigmatic Gideon White Eagle and her destiny is set.

I quite enjoyed J.M. Jeffries The Dazzling Debutante. It was fun reading about the further adventures of Venus and Cupid, and Venus really is in fine form and her antics are completely hilarious. The writing team of J.M. Jeffries is always very creative and their characters never fail to capture my heart. Olivia is a pampered and sheltered woman but she grows throughout her experience and finds herself. I liked taking the journey with her and felt that the authors portrayed her growth very realistically. The hero, Gideon, was the ultimate alpha-male with a heart. I kept my fingers crossed for this couple to get together and have an HEA ending.

If you are not familiar with J.M. Jeffries, you are missing out on fantastic authors. Their Cupid series is very good and I sincerely hope that more is soon forthcoming.
