| Kimber has put aside her pride to ask Deke for his help even though they haven’t seen each other in over five years. Deke worked for her dad for years and Kimber had a schoolgirl’s crush on him. Back then Deke barely acknowledged her existence. Now Kimber has fallen in love with Jesse, a rising music star with ménage tastes in the bedroom. Knowing Deke shares that taste, she wants Deke and his cousin to teach her what she needs to know to satisfy Jesse. Deke reluctantly agrees to tutor Kimber for two weeks. Luc jumps at the opportunity as he sees more in the future for the three of them than just great sex. Kimber doesn’t realize the reason Deke tended to ignore her in the past, and once she does, will she be strong enough to continue in a ménage relationship?
Decadent is surely a must read if you like alpha heroes who love deeply but have a hard time with their emotions. Deke knows he will be no good for sweet, innocent Kimber, but he's not strong enough to turn her down. His cousin Luc is firmly on her side and he really can’t stomach the thought of anybody else touching her. Deke’s past has colored the way he feels about women and it's interesting to see how he works through his problems. Luc also has a huge secret that is shared close to the end of the book that sheds light on what motivates him to stay in a ménage relationship. Kimber’s emotions are all over the place as she tries to understand what motivates Deke while at the same time trying to come to terms with how she feels about Jesse. This book illustrates the emotions involved when hearts are divided in a ménage relationship. We see Kimber's maturity emerge as her relationship with Deke and Luc deepen and the pain she endures as she realizes Jesse is not the friend she has known in the past. I love how Kimber was happy with the person she is and doesn’t feel like she needs to be more feminine. She's certainly a heroine we can all relate to. She feels she's not what Deke really wants, but she's confident enough in herself to stay true to her personality. Kimber’s brothers are introduced to us in this book, and I certainly hope the author will write their stories for us to enjoy.
