| The year is 1856 and Olivia Breedlove's father has died. When the will is read, she discovers he has made a stipulation for her. She must marry within sic months or lose her half of his inheritance. In her outrage, she decides if she must marry she wants it to be Morgan Gatewood. It has been ten years since he stole a kiss in the garden, taking her heart with him also. Now he only seems to see her as a sister. But she has come up with a plan to make him see her as more. Is her plan outrageous enough to make Morgan confess his love? Or will it just cause more trouble than she could ever have imagined?
I liked this book. Even though some parts seemed a little slow and drawn out. For the most part it moved well with lots of sex and suspense. I really thought the historical setting was well done. It was full of details from the past and seemed quite accurate to me. The homes had nice descriptions that made me wish I could visit them and see all the beautiful gardens. The dialogue was filled with eloquent southern accents. All the characters were well written. They were all vividly describe and kept with the time period. Just reading of their everyday lives told you alot about their personalities. Olivia is easy to like. She is sweet and loyal, even though she is quite stubborn. Morgan is a wonderful manly man with a heart of gold. The plot is quite dramatic. It keeps you reading on to see what will happen next. Every chapter is full of action, mystery, and suspense. I enjoyed this trip back in time and would recommend this book to anyone who loves historical romance.
