Delaney Marshall was having a BAD day! She went to work for a big advertising meeting after sleeping late. Her shoes didn’t even match. She had catsup on her suit. The sales pitch which could mean a promotion for her looked less positive by the minute. After the disastrous meeting, her boss demanded she take two weeks off. When she started home, she went from present day 2009 to 1888.

Dr. Gabriel Whitman watched a beautiful woman, strangely dressed, run in front of a horse-pulled wagon to save a small boy’s life. The confusion Delaney felt was equal to Gabriel’s mindset. It took very little time for the doctor to know he wanted this woman—she was the soul mate he had been searching for. Sparks flew, but obviously Delaney didn’t know how to cope with her new surroundings.

This book was really good. Stacey Coverstone used the time-travel situation in such a unique way. This genre is not one I usually read, so I had no idea what to expect. The myriad of secondary characters made this book above average. Coverstone created her charming cast to uphold a great plot. Her writing style is good—I’ve read her works before and loved them. She is responsible for my new-found interest in this genre.

The Irish cab driver, Sam McKinney, and Donovan McKinney, owner of the diner, were perfect examples of unrealistic supporting characters which made the storyline so refreshing. The book was a page-turner that I just couldn’t put down. The ending was nothing like I expected, but it was fascinating. I recommend this book to everyone, even if like me, you don’t normally read fantasy. Try this one! You won’t be sorry.

Stacey Coverstone has once again made her name in the world of writing. Her characterizations are well thought out and her storyline is poignant. It was heart wrenching to find out how much difference 121 years made in history. She knew exactly how to present her characters in such a way that all readers could be entertained. Kudos, Ms. Coverstone!
