| For her entire life, Ellie Holmes has been considered different. Everyone in her family studies witchcraft except for her little sister, Becca, who refuses to acknowledge her witch-roots. Even the guy she is currently dating, and contemplating breaking up with, is a Vampire. Ellie has a tendency to take care of people - no matter if they are the eternal living, or family, instead of herself. Her house and her life are being overrun with needy people, not that she minds. Ever since her divorce, she likes the feeling of control. She then meets a strange man in the park that has not only an aura of power and danger, but she feels he also has some tie to her heart and her body that no one has ever had.
Eric Malcolm is doing his job. He is a law-enforcer of sorts, not of the human laws, but of the more extraordinary beings that walk the earth. His new "case" is different because he is not only searching for the being that has killed his closest friends, but he has now encountered Ellie. For hundreds of years he believed that finding his mate was impossible, and now for her to be a frail human is just absurd! When the danger in the town starts to escalate, Eric will do anything to protect Ellie… but can he? With unspeakable danger stalking a small town, and some very interesting and "other" worldly beings makes this story a raucous roller coaster ride. The story bends, twists, and turns the reader upside down and inside out. What a wonderful journey!
