| Eden Riley's day starts off fine enough, she's called in to consult on a case with a gorgeous police detective but when her psychic abilities lead her to the serial killer things get way out of hand. It seems the psychotic killer, who claims to be possessed by a demon, doesn't take kindly to being found by the reluctant psychic and tries to add her to his list of victims. When the killer is dispatched by the sexy cop a black swirl of smoke appears and the next thing Eden knows she's sharing her body during the daylight hours with a hottie demon named Darrak. Before Eden can say exorcise she's invaded by all things Otherworldly and she barely recognizes her boring life.
If you love your paranormals with a quirky twist and lots of chuckles (and the occasional snort) then this one is for you. I love the self deprecating humor Eden has, as I'm a huge fan of sarcasm. The heroine is likable in an offbeat way which makes her actions more believable when she does become entangled with the demon and the other supernatural characters his possession attracts. The love triangle is an interesting one even though it seems to be the classic boyfriend debate of the ages; golden good boy versus the dark demon. Ben comes off too good to be true so I'm not sure he really gives Darrak much competition. I must say that I rather enjoyed the date scene as I swear I myself have been in the exact same situation before. The secondary characters are entertaining and well-developed and I particularly liked Selina. My favorite part of the entire novel was Eden's nickname for her ex as it's similar to what I call mine. I was a bit disappointed with the end of the story as it never really came to a true completion but I am looking forward to reading the next in the series to see just how things all turn out.
