| Nefertari Smith has been hiding her immortality her whole life and now she's afraid that Jasper Grayson may have discovered her secret. Jasper has a secret of his own and he has been using his position as a DNA researcher to find an immortal mate. Once she learns that Jasper is a vampire, Tari is ready and willing to explore her desire for him, even as she remembers a warning against getting involved with them.
These two are a positively combustible pair of characters. They are intriguing on their own, with their individual problems with immortality, but together they heat up the pages. Tari's unique abilities have left her feeling isolated most of the time and insecure in forming attachments to other people. Jasper is exactly what she needs to help her deal with those insecurities. The best part is that he needs her every bit as much and he does the work to prove that to her once he realizes it. This is a nicely paced story that reads quickly and will keep readers engaged from beginning to end. The dialogue is witty, which fits perfectly with the characters being both immortal and college professors. Everything about this is enjoyable and the ending is definitely satisfying. Ciar Cullen has done a great job telling the story of some very interesting characters.
