| Archeologist Eliza Schneider assumes her meeting with an exotic stranger in the Egyptian desert is a heat-induced hallucination -- until he materializes in New York dressed in a business suit. She has to give the tall, handsome Egyptian high marks for originality with his pick-up line: they're fated to save the world together. The master/servant thing goes a long way toward sweeping her off her feet, but it's easier to believe he's just another in her long line of poor romantic choices. Kasdeya, the Fifth Satan, has waited eons for his Keeper to find her way to his tomb amongst the ancient ruins. With time as their enemy, he must convince Eliza that her acceptance of him is critical before the deadly Deumos, a female demon, claims him for her own. Trouble is Eliza doesn't believe that Kasdeya is real and if he can't persuade her that his love and desire for her is genuine and everlasting—Deumos will win and ultimately destroy all mortals.
In The Egyptian Demon's Keeper Ciar Cullen has created a story that is both mesmerizing and very hot. Kasedya clearly cares for his keeper, but her very modern attitude and frank language often befuddles his ancient Egyptian sensibilities. They have a centuries-old bond that she shouldn't be able to resist, and yet she does, baffling him even more. Eliza has difficulty believing Kasdeya is real for several reasons. The fact that he is a gorgeous male statue come to life with the claim that she was born to give herself to him is understandably difficult for her to accept without some reservations. Ms. Cullen does an excellent job of slowly, but surely getting Eliza to recognize her role as the long lost mate of Kasdeya. For readers who enjoy stories filled with Egyptian mystique, The Egyptian Demon's Keeper will definitely prove to also be a keeper for them.
