Once again Missy Martine does not disappoint. We continue from where the story left off in the first book very smoothly. I truly enjoyed returning to the Wind River Pack and seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Not only do we get to see Michael and Ariane but we also get to catch up with many characters from the first book. As we watch Maddie struggle with having to tell Michael about their wolfen heritage we get to see the bond and love that has formed between Maddie and Remus.

Michael is a strong and smart man who must decide just where his heart and mind belong. As he struggles with his newfound knowledge, he also deals with his attraction to Ariane. Ariane is a woman who loves with all her heart and will not settle for less than her true mate. She is a fighter but when she goes to the city with Michael she finds it hard to fit into his world. Add in a jealous coworker to the mix and the fireworks begin. Ariane must trust herself and the love that she and Michael share. The relationship that blooms between the two is a wonderful read and watching Michael come to terms with his heritage makes for a good read as well.

While a bad guy was introduced in the story, this book concentrated more on the love story and we did not see much of a bad guy. I cannot wait to return to the Wind River pack to find out what happens next. Just what will they do with the new doctor that seems just as intent on using shape shifters for his own gain? Who will be the next to meet their mate? This book is a wonderful continuation of a great series and should not be missed.
