| Ever since primale Korlon and obedient Desela Tenaria parted ways, Desela has tried to fill her time helping to match other primales with obedients. It holds back some of the loneliness she feels, making others happy. When Desela arrives on Unicorn Three to offer her matchmaking services, she is in for a rude surprise when the Colony Marshal, Trajan, informs her that instead of her two week planned stay, she gets three days and that’s it.
There’s another problem. Desela is very attracted to Trajan. In fact, he brings out her submissive tendencies in full force. Desela has been pretending to be a fem in order to be safe when she travels, but at heart, she is very much an obedient and suddenly, Desela is longing to call Trajan Master. Unfortunately, Trajan is having none of it. Well, he’s definitely very attracted to Desela, but because of a past hurt from an obedient, Trajan has closed his heart off from love permanently. Now, it is up to Desela, sleek, smart, feminine, and charming, to prove to him that love is worth a second chance. A Dominant for Desela is another strong and emotional addition to Reese Gabriel’s More Than Male series. This story picks up five years after the last book. Desela is really the first obedient character to be fully explored in this series. Though she does live up to the obedient lifestyle, Desela is a fully developed and well-rounded character who doesn’t act like an obedient. Though her heart longs to be conquered, she is still a fighter. She’s had to be, after all, when she lost out once on love. But unlike Trajan, Desela knows there is another man waiting out there for her. Her perfect mate. Her confidence and optimism adds a pleasing layer to her character, making her a nice counterpoint to Trajan’s much gruffer and sometimes cold façade. Nonetheless, Reese Gabriel does a great job of exploring Trajan too. His heart, though stonewalled, is not immune to the fun and coy Desela. You’ll definitely enjoy watching them match wits, explore their sexualities and Desela’s submissive persona, and in the end, you’ll sigh as they learn to make a commitment to each other. I’m not sure if this is the last in the series, but I can’t help hoping that the author is willing to continue exploring this world and characters. The More Than Male series has been pure pleasure from the get-go, and A Dominant for Desela is another captivating tale.
