| Reynaud St. Aubyn has been a captive for the past seven, long torturous years. During his years of suffering, the one thing that kept him going was the desire to return to his ancestral home to regain his title and lands. He never expects to find a beautiful woman living in his home, or that her uncle is in possession of not only his title, but everything that should be his.
Beatrice Corning has daydreamed about the boy in the portrait in her uncle's home for years. But when this same boy, now full grown and looking savage and wild, suddenly appears demanding her uncle's title, will she fight for her uncle? Or surrender to a Devil? To Desire a Devil a is well written story that grabbed my attention from the first chapter and held it until the last page. The short little story at the beginning of each chapter just made it all the better, even though it really has very little to do with the main story, it was a great addition. Reynaud is the perfect hero, with flaws both physical and mental that makes him not only seem real but makes him loveable. I wanted him to win, to live and to love. Beatrice is a strong woman, who will fight for what she wants, but when it comes to Reynaud she is insecure and a little afraid. This book has it all, from love to betrayal, from desire to attempted murder. I would highly recommend this one to anyone who enjoys a great historical with a scarred hero and the woman he would give up everything, even his life, to have as his own. This is the first of this series that I have read, but I will definitely be purchasing the other three.
