| Runa fell in love with Shade only to discover he only cared about his own pleasure. Running from his home, she is attacked and left for dead. Found by her brother and his employers, she is saved but forever changed. Now much stronger, leaner and meaner, she searches for Shade to get even but is captured by an evil demon intent on killing her. Held captive and in chains, she is surprised to wake up and find Shade shackled next to her. As Runa and Shade discover the passion still between them and Shade explains about his innate need to satisfy any female who desires it, they are tricked by their captor and are bonded for life. Shade hasn't told the complete truth to Runa though, and as his feelings for Runa deepen, his very life is threatened not only by a curse placed on Shade years ago, but also by the evil demon that has captured them.
I loved how the author builds her characters. The men, though certainly not perfect, have this core of strength and loyalty to their family and friends that make the reader overlook their flaws and fall in love with them. The heroines are all strong women with certain weaknesses that usually revolve around their men. They might let him walk over them once, but no more! This book moves swiftly along with plenty of action and adventure. I's very hard to put down because you want to know what is going to happen next. The author keeps your interest with different twists and turns to the plot that keep you entertained until the very end. This book/series features some great world building, from the underground hospital for demons to the far reaches of the world, thanks to the ability to leap across time through the harrowgates. The mixture of good and evil, both human and demon, keeps the reader involved in the plot and wondering just who is good and who is evil. By his very nature, Shade is sexy and holds nothing back in the bedroom, and luckily for him, Runa is up to his every escapade. The scenes are hotter than hot, sexy, erotic and full of sensuality. You don't want to miss this one!
