On a mission to deliver prototype detonators to the British, Tyler's unit is attacked, the product is stolen, and she is the only survivor. Since the prototype was a joint venture with the British, they send one of their agents, Owen, to help find the truth behind what happened. Tyler is an agent for A-Tac, a special ops division of the CIA, and they step in to prove her innocence. Soon Tyler, Owen and all of A-Tac realize they still have a traitor in their midst and every move they make seems to be one step behind the enemy. The deaths of too many people close to A-Tac as well as numerous hits on Tyler's life convince Owen of her innocence, and they must join forces to ferret out the traitor before the traitor gets to Tyler.

Desperate Deeds is the third book in the A-Tac series. As with the previous books, this one has non stop action and adventure. From the first chapter my attention was captured and the quick pacing held me until the final page. The relationship between all the members of the A-Tac team added depth to the plot. Tyler's talent lies in explosives but most of this book dealt with her investigative skills. I was a little disappointed it wasn't used more in the book, even though when she did use her talent it was at a critical point. I was happy with the way the author brought the sexual tension back into Owen and Tyler's relationship after their first encounter. Both of them are strong characters who are confident in their physical abilities but needed some nurturing in their emotional relationships. The love scenes between Owen and Tyler are certainly not the main focus of the story but they add credibility and meaning to their relationship because of their scarcity. The suspense is woven so seamlessly into the story that you'll never guess who the traitor is. I have high hopes that Dee Davis plans more books in the A-Tac series. Fans of romantic suspense will love this book for its quick pacing, intense plot, and believable sensuality. This series and this author are not to be missed!
